
Here is an easy homemade chocolate frosting to complement any cake or dessert.
Ingredients
- 6 Tablespoons of butter or margarine (softened)
- 1/2 cup of powdered cocoa
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 Teaspoon of vanilla for flavor (If you have it)
Steps
- Using an electric mixer, beat butter until it is fluffy.
- Add cocoa and sugar with milk and egg yolks
- Beat until the mixture is spreading consistency
- Add the vanilla and blend
Tips
- The icing should be of a consistency that can be easily spread without tearing the cake.
- If frosting is too thick to spread easily, add a drop or two of additional milk until frosting reaches the desired consistency.
- Raw eggs carry the risk of salmonella.
